Layoff Information  



1. Those people being placed on seniority layoff will continue with the same health insurance coverage, as per their seniority. Dental insurance will stop at the end of the calendar month you are laid off.

2. Ford paid Life insurance program will continue same as the health insurance seniority schedule.

3. For those employee's with Optional Life and Dependent Life Insurance, you will receive only one statement for payment, this will be mailed to you about six weeks after layoff. You must make payment to keep this Insurance in effect.

4. Employee's working Sunday June 6, 2004, will be eligible for Short Workweek for the week of June 13, 2004. Employee's working that Sunday will not be receiving their notice from the State until the third week.
 


   If you are an hourly, full-time worker, and are laid off because of a lack of work, or as part of a plant
   shutdown, your employer will file an application for benefits on your behalf.

 

   The Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) will send you a notice by Saturday of the second full week after
   the layoff, notifying you of your eligibility for benefits. For new claims, you will also receive a booklet in the mail
   containing the rest of the instructions for claiming your benefit checks.

 

   You must still call MARVIN (Michigans' Automated Response Voice Interactive Network) according to the
   time and date in your instruction booklet to receive benefit checks. (866) 638-3993 or (800) 638-3995.
 


   Those people on Inverse Seniority Layoff will continue with the same health coverage for the duration of the
   layoff.

 

   Ford paid Life Insurance, also will continue for the duration.

 

   For those employees with Optional Life and Dependent Life Insurance, about the middle of the month, you will
   receive a statement in the mail for the next month premium. This must be paid, nonpayment will cause your
   coverage to be dropped. As long as you are laid off you will need to make these monthly payments.

 

   Ford will automatically file an application for Unemployment Compensation and SUB Benefits for Full-Time
   employees.

   Part-Time
employees will not be laid off, but you will not be scheduled to work during this
   time. What this means is all of your your current benefits will stay in effect.

   Part-Time
employees must go to the Unemployment Compensation office to file their
   claims.
 



   Governor Granholm issued Executive Order 18 that abolished the Department of Consumer & Industry
   Services and created the Department of Labor & Economic Growth to replace it. The Bureau of Workers' &
   Unemployment Compensation site has been broken up into three new sites to reflect organizational changes:
