BADGES: Your ID badge is your meal ticket. Wear it at all times. MEALS: Breakfast: 7:30-8:30 a.m. Lunch: Noon-1:00 p.m. Dinner: 6:00-7:00 p.m. PARKING: Please place all used Styrofoam cups in the blue recycle bins located in the Lecture Hall, Front Lobby Coffee Room or Education area. Park in designated areas only. (Reception Center parking lot or at Maxon Lodge Parking Lot for those housed there.) Parking anywhere else seriously jeopardizes the Center's ability to provide emergency services. Parking rules are strictly enforced. If you park illegally, you will be required to move your car to the Foreign Car Parking Lot. SECURITY GATE: Drivers received a numbered card upon entering the Center. The card should be placed on the dashboard when parked on Center property. The numbered card must be shown at the Main Gate when entering the Center. Please return the card to the Main Security Gate on checkout day. DRINKING:
PHONE SERVICE: Directions for phones are displayed in each room on the phone. If you need further assistance, contact the Front Desk by dialing "0". Phone charges are your responsibility. Please pay phone bills Thursday night at Front Desk prior to Friday's departure. CHECK-OUT: All guests must check out at the Front Desk in the Main Lobby prior to departure. The Education Department must approve all early check-outs. SERIOUS EMERGENCIES, FIRE:For serious emergencies, paramedics are immediately available by dialing
9-911. For minor emergencies, call Security at 7-261.
Please unplug all appliances including curling irons, hair dryers, shavers, etc. SHARPS CONTAINERS: For diabetics and others using hypodermic needles, Sharps' containers are available at the Front Desk. GYM, POOL, GAME ROOM, SAUNAS, EXERCISE ROOM: The gym, game room, saunas and exercise room is available to delegates and visitors each day from 4:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The pool is open from 4:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. From 9:00-10:00 p.m., swimming is limited to adults only. Only white soled tennis shoes are allowed in gym. No one under the age of 16 will be allowed to use the exercise equipment. Bring your own swimsuits and gym shoes. Towels are available at the gym and swimming pool. Saunas are located in the dressing rooms. TRANSPORTATION: Bus transportation is provided from 7:15a.m. until 1:30a.m. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Call the Front Desk for bus service by dialing "0". FRIENDS OF BILL W: The boardroom located in the upper level near the Main Lobby has been reserved for use by Friends of Bill W. The room is available each evening beginning at 7:00 p.m. For your convenience, a coffee station is available near the Front Desk in the Main Lobby. ROLLER BLADES or SKATEBOARDS:
LIBRARY BOOKSTORE: There is a library and bookstore in the Education Building that is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. GIFT STORE: Souvenirs, aspirin and other supplies can be purchased at the Gift Store located in Lobby area. Business hours are 3:30 until 10:30 p.m. Aspirin and antacids are also available in a vending machine located in the Front Lobby Coffee Room. LAUNDRY: Coin operated laundry facilities are located at Maxon Lodge. CAN REFUNDS: Under the Michigan Can Law, all soda and beer purchased require a dime deposit. To get refunds, take soda cans to the Front Desk in Main Lobby and beer cans to the Inn. DRUGS: No illegal drugs of any kind are permitted on UAW property. GAMBLING: No gambling except in your room. Call Front Desk before 8:30 p.m. for card tables and chairs. HUNTING: No hunting on UAW property and no weapons allowed. If you bring weapons, they must be checked in at the Main Gate. BOATING: If you bring your boat to the Center, you must follow
boating regulations:
CENTER POLICY: Conduct yourself in an orderly fashion at all times. All children 16 and under must be accompanied by a parent to use any of the Center facilities after 4:00 p.m. (pool, gym, hallways, dining room, beach, etc.) Vandalism, theft, destruction of property, etc. should be reported to Security immediately and proper accident reports filed. VISITORS: All visitors must be cleared through the Education Office (Dial 7241). Visitors must be off the grounds by 11:00 p.m. CENTER MAPS: Maps of the Center are available at the Front Desk and near the Library.
All delegates are expected to attend all scheduled assembly sessions and classroom activities.
