The Window of
Opportunity to
Lower Your Property Taxes is
NOW!!!
If you haven't received
this year's Assessed Value for your home - you will soon.
In many areas, the market
value of real estate has decreased. To APPEAL the
valuation, follow these
steps:
Call up your city
Ask for the city
assessor department
Request an
appointment to review your SEV (state equalized value)
Go to the meeting prepared
Go
on-line and print out sales in your neighborhood
If you
have an appraisal with lower values bring it with you
Ask a
friendly Realtor for a comp analysis
Bring
anything that proves your current reduced value
If you need information on your city
assessor's office
many are available on this link
www.realmarketing.com
Keep in mind the clock is ticking. The Board of Review usually meets in
March
and if you miss setting
an appointment in January/February - you will have to
wait until next year.
Also keep in mind the
city does not want to collect less money on your property
taxes, so if you
experience the run around be persistent and don't give up .....
