During
2003 Local Negotiations, the Union requested the that Five-Day
Notice procedure from the Master Agreement, Appendix B, be
included in the Local Agreement.
Our
records show that is has been five or more working days since you
last worked. If you do not, within 5 working days,
(excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays) from the above date,
either report to the Employment Office for work or give a
satisfactory reason for your absence to the Employment Office in
writing or by telephone*, your employment will be terminated and
you will lose your seniority (unless it is impossible for you to
comply with the above). If you are unable to work because of
illness or injury, and so report to the Employment Office within
the time stated above, you will be granted a sick leave of absence
to cover the period of your disability upon presenting
satisfactory evidence thereof.
